Wednesday, February 20, 2013Syrian violence threatens ancient treasures - Yahoo! NewsEven when there was no civil conflict the world stood by as mute witnesses when the Bamiyan Buddha statues were destroyed by the marauding mobs of Islamists. It serves no purpose publishing reports on this kind of incidents when nobody wants to do anything. Even if the conflict ends by the dethroning of the current President, Syria will most probably fall into the hands of Taliban and Al Qaeda who will officially destroy these treasures. There is no winning where Islamists are involved, if you don't destroy them, they will decimate you.
Monday, February 04, 2013US Government Approves drone strikes on TraitorsI am impressed by this move by the US Justice Department. The MSN EXCLUSIVE: Justice Department memo reveals legal case for drone strikes on Americans reveals details about how people plotting attacks against America will be killed even if they are citizens of this country. I believe every nation should take this kind of stance. It is in for the better of the world. These terrorists need to be exterminated and if that can be achieved through remote drone attacks so be it. I don't know what else to write here. My mind can't seem to think of anything but work and how to garner more hours at work. How to achieve that break that would catapult me into professional success. What I need to know so that I can seize the opportunity when it presents itself in front of me. Meanwhile I will keep finding excuses not to blog. We will see how things pan out!!! Sunday, December 16, 2012Domain Registration Discounts!!! Saturday, December 15, 2012Grief Strikes America at times of JoyThe happiness that Christmas Holidays brings year after year to hundreds of thousands of families in the world is not going to be so happy in America this year. An unfortunate incident that ended in a school shooting has put the nation in a pall of gloom. According to news reports the Connecticut school shooting took a toll of 20 children and 6 adults.
Picture courtesy Yahoo NewsThere seems to be something wrong with how children are experiencing life in general. There appears to be a emotional disconnect between young people and suffering. There is too much comfort, too little responsibility and high stress levels. It is upon us as adults of this society to look inward and find solutions. Tuesday, December 04, 2012Another way to Immigrate to America!!!I read the Yahoo News about how a luxury home is being maintained as a birthing location for Chinese nationals who would like to give the gift of American Citizenship to their yet unborn Children. Their modus operandi is simple, get pregnant in China travel to US when they are few weeks from delivery and give birth here. This way the child becomes an American Citizen, the parents can't be removed. The government here will be forced to give them green cards and they will bring the rest of their extended family. A neat strategy to take over the country, infiltrate, immigrate, and populate. China wants to be the superpower in the world and what better way than to takeover the existing superpower by overpopulating the nation with their people. Friday, November 30, 2012College ArtworksYesterday when I attended classes I visited the college art gallery during the break. A mixed media exhibition is going on over there which has some bold looking artworks that perhaps would fit only a gallery and would never grace anyone's home. I wonder what the artist had in mind while creating these works of art. I personally didn't understand the art and there was no explanation signage to help me understand. All I can say is there are a variety of objects used to create something attractive. Tuesday, November 27, 2012Lake Lavon from the highwayRecently I drove over a bridge built across the northern ending part of Lake Lavon. The bridge about a mile long provides scenic views of the lake when it is full. Unfortunately due to drought of the past two years the water levels have dropped significantly. Nevertheless the lake is still very beautiful and offers a soothing ambiance. Wednesday, November 21, 2012Winter clouds!!!Here in Texas the best days to look at the sky and clouds is during the early winter or fall days. The sun is bright but not blazing down and burning everything in sight. The sky has a fair share of clouds which provides a nice contrast of white against the bright blue skies. Here are some pictures I shot as I drove along the endless highways of Texas. Tuesday, November 13, 2012Happy Diwali 2012
I wonder how other Hindus are celebrating the festival of lights across the world. It is funny that when I was in India I looked forward to this very festival because I wanted the holiday from work to go out and enjoy. Here there are no holidays to look forward to. I set my own timings and days to work and I can take off whenever I want to and of course whenever my circumstances allow me to. Anyway enough of my rambling... go ahead and enjoy the Diwali with family and friends instead of browsing the internet. Monday, November 12, 2012Veterans Day in America Today I was listening to a radio program on KERA in which a veteran was being interviewed. His only message to all the citizens was not to just thank a veteran today but to ask them for a story. In short the speaker urged citizens to make a veterans day by asking them to tell a story of their service days. Anyone will feel good when others show an interest in their life and story. Especially so if one has fought a war and placed their health and life at risk. I wish every nation in the world celebrated their fighting soldiers the same way. Wednesday, November 07, 2012Robbery Inspired by MoviesLooks like some people learn lessons from movies. This set of criminals did at least and made away with a cool $3.1 million heist from a jewelry store. On the flip side these guys are bringing a bad name to bikers and motorcyclists who ride for fun and enjoyment. I wonder what kind of backlash there will be in Britain against motorcyclists. Homeless Man’s Honest Deed Rewarded with $16K Donation, and Counting - Yahoo! News
Another example of media hype. Social media and internet continues to blur the line that distinguishes what is and isn't news. This story doesn't deserve headlines but it has hogged headlines simply because it went viral. There seems to be an absolute lack of maturity amongst news media when it comes to publishing.
